Sweet Potatoes!!

I know that all my posts are about Kade and when I made this blog I swore I would never become one of 'THOSE!' people. But O-well... what do you do when you have the cutest child on the planet:) ha ha! So here we are documenting Kade's First attempt at eating babyfood! Sweet potatoes was what we were told to start him out on, and I didn't think he was gonna go for it. But as you can see from the pics, he was stoked:) I freakin love this kid and can't get enough of his chubby BUTT!

KaDe's 1st ChRisTmaS

We had to do the Classic Christmas pic by the tree in our jammies:) Kade has some really cute PJ's but barfed all 8 oz of his bottle all over them so we had to change him! He got sick Christmas Eve and stayed sick for about 3 days:( Poor little guy! I can't believe he got sick for his 1st Christmas. Other than that it was a great Christmas though. We went to the movie Christmas Eve with my mom and dad and watch "A Christmas Carol" in 3D. The 3D part was cool but the movie was a little dark and not what we expected from a Jim Carrey movie. But it was fun non the less. Kade slept through most of the movie so we actually got to watch it which was amazing:) But after the movie is when he got sick.
We went to bed and slept in until about 9:00 on Christmas morning... (I am sure that is the last Christmas we will be able to do that though). After we woke up we opened presents. Colby bought me a camera and bunch of clothes and great things. He is so sweet and always spoils me rotten! Thanks Colby I love you so much:) I got him some new drills that he had been wanting and clothes and cologne and PS3 games and such! Then we headed over to my parents house for my dad's famous biscuits and gravy and waited for our phone call from Derek! It was so great to talk to him and hear his voice! We miss him so much and even though he seemed really happy I still cried and got a little sad that he wasn't there to spend Christmas with us. He told us all about his mission and the good work that he was doing for people for Christmas. He seems like he has already grown up so much, we are so proud of him!
After that we opened up presents with my mom and dad and of course we got spoiled! We got way more than we needed. Then we headed over to Colby's moms for some ham and rolls and opened more presents there... again we got spoiled and found out that we were going to Disneyland Jan 13th!! We are so excited!! After that we went home! The End! I love Christmas! It is so nice to relax and spend time together as family. We are so blessed with such great families and friends to share the holidays with!

He surprised us by actually tearing into the wrapping paper and helping open his presents though. It sure made Christmas fun. We love you so much Kade!

And then we have these little guys... they are all gone:( We held on to 4 out the 5 until Christmas for the people that bought them. Such cute little guys but so much work! Not that I would know... Colby took care of them:)

Kade's 6 month Check up

Kade went to his 6 month check up on the 18th of Dec. I cannot believe that it has been 6 whole months since we have had Kade as part of our family!! I know that that everyone says that but really I wish that time would slow down... my little baby boy is getting way to big! Here were his stats

Weight: 23.1LB = 98th percentile

Length: 28.75 inches long =96th percentile

Head : 17.5 inches circumference = 61st percentile

At his Dr apt he had to get 5 Shots in his fat thighs:( It was so so sad of course but he only cried for a minute and only after the 3rd shot when it finally hit him! But we decided to give him the H1N1 shot as well even though my sister warned me that I would prob make him sick... the Dr talked me into it because he is babysat and exposed to his cousins so much. But that night Kade got the worst fever ever... he was so stinkin sick and I felt so bad for giving him the shot:( He woke up screaming bloody murder and when I picked him up he was as hot as an oven! We stipped him down to his diaper and patted him with a cold washcloth ( wich he hated even more), he cooled down enough for us to take his temp and it was 103.9! I was dying... We gave him some tylenol and he managed to get comfy enough to sleep. But he kept the fever for about another day! It was terrible... I felt like the worst mom alive but I guess it was a gamle either way. If he would have gotten the flu I would have felt even worse..

He is just the most awesome gift in the whole wide world! I never knew that I would love being a mom as much as I do!

Thanksgiving 09

We celebrated Thanksgiving at my mom's house this year! It was really laid back.. Derek is on his mission ( but my mom did bring up our golden pig and place it at the table in remembrace of the PRIZED PIG)! and Ashlie and her family went to Judd's parents this year so it was just me, Colby, Kade, my mom and dad and my Grandma Bonnie! My dad invited Jose and Antonio over to eat with us too ( They work for my dad). But they didn't make it for dinner. They came over a little later though and my mom fixed them up a plate. It was kind of awkward cause they don't speak much english and they didn't really seem like they wanted to eat! They kept picking at it and lookin at it. Maybe they felt a little weird celebrating Thanksgiving with us cause they did let us know that Hispanics don't really celebrate Thanksgiving...OOOPS! They were kind enough to humor us though:) They stayed for a little bit and tried to teach my dad some more spanish too! My dad is so funny he thinks that he is making progress because he can say things like MUCHO!! Uh dad everyone knows that word means BIG... Its not that cool! ha ha

After Some visiting and sittin around we watched "Four Christmases" It is a pretty good movie and it was fun to just realax and hang out and realize how blessed we are! I am so Thankful for my parents and my family ( Colbys included) They are so great to help us out in anyway that they can and they love us uncoditionally! I am Thankful for Colby and Kade and the family that we are building together... I can't picture what my life was like without them! I never knew what I was missing in my life! I am Thankful that Derek is on a mission and just having him out there is making all of us want to be better people! Thanks For the Exapmle that you are Derek:) We really have so much t0 be grateful for! Good Health, good friends, Good Food! Here is to Thanksgiving and taking the time to look around at all the good in our lives!

Mom's BIG B-DaY

My mom had her Birthday on The 17th of Nov. We decided that it would be a good idea to do something a little extra special... She gets a little down in the dumps on Birthdays and Holidays because Derek is not here. So my dad called some of Derek's fiends to come down to the bowling alley and have pizza and cake and ice cream. If we can't have Derek we will have to have his friends... we love them anyway. They love REB DANK :) Gentry came and even brought my mom some Chocolates for her Birthday! He really is like our second Brother and he knows the way to my moms heart:) We all met down there after work to go bowling and my mom had no idea that that many people were gonna be there to celebrate with her. Of course she cried cause she was so stoked about it! Ha ha, it was fun and my mom enjoyed every second of being the center of attention! She is crazy... but we love her! Happy Birthday momma!

Kade's 1st Halloween

So, I know that Halloween was over a month ago... Holy crap where did November go?!! Anyways, for Halloween we had our traditional pumkin bowls and soup:) This year we made cheesey patato and it turned out pretty good, We carved pumpkins and we made the rounds to see the grandparents. Since Kade is to little to go trick or treating they were the only ones that got to see his cute costume this year but we still had a lot of fun! Kade actually didn't mind his costume even the hat. Although I did buy his costume about a month early and by the time it was time for him to actually wear it we couldn't button the bottom of the hat together cause of his double chins!! ha ha:) We love you Kade!

Oh and of course we still had to dress Meatball up a little:)

Fall Pics!

Kade is just getting so big and changing every single day! So of course I had to get his pictures taken again! It's a good thing that I know a great photographer that loves him:) (Thanks ASH)!!

My sister was kind enough again to take Kade's pictures for Halloween, we got some good ones of him in his super cute monkey outfit and I decided while we were at it we would take some more casual ones too! Kade is such a HAPPY, SMILEY baby and we love him so much! I love the pictures that we got and I am so glad that Ashlie can document these memories for me! I am not sure what we would do without her:) Just look at that face! I just want to squeeze him! It was a lot harder taking his picture this time, he is so alert and wanting to look at everthing except the camera, not to mention wanting to put everything in his mouth and drooling like a mad man ha ha! Ashlile is so good at what she does if you need a photographer especially for your kids... she is your girl!

The Used!

We went and saw the Used at Saltair. We decided last minute to go up and just buy tickets at the door. Colby hadn't seen the used since before his mission and had been dying to go forever so my mom watched Kade for us and we drove up to the concert. Once we got to the door to buy tickets we were told that they only accept cash!! What the freak! Normally this would not have been a problem but i had just got a new debit card and did not know my pin number and Colby only uses a credit card!! So after staying on the phone with my bank trying to figure out how I could get cash they basically told me that we were out of luck because I was going to have to reset my pin at a Bank! It was 8:30 or so at this point and of course the banks were closed! To make a long story short we went to gas stations and hotels to try to cash a check! of course we had no luck but I was determined to get to this concert for my hubby so we drove to the nearest Walmart........ about 15 min away and I bought a pack of gum at 3 different registers and got the max cash back each time ( a whopping $20) hahaha! It took us quite a bit longer to get into the concert but It was worth it!! Colby loves the used and I have grown to actually like a lot of there stuff too:) Bert the lead singer guy is fetchin crazy though! He is funny but sometimes he goes a little to far... like spitting on the crowd!! DISGUSTING! But all in all it was pretty fun and nice to spend some time with my Hot Hubby! Love you Colby:)

Meatball had her puppies! wahoo:)

Of course she had to have them on my day off:) I was hoping I wouldn't have to deal with the whole birth process... call me immature but I had a hard enough time dealing with my own:) she was up all night freaking out in her kennel and Colby stayed up with her. She popped out 3 before he left for work and I didn't think she would even have anymore........WRONG! She had 4 more while he was gone, I kept calling him everytime she would have another one and we were both in complete shock! I mean she was fat but not 7 puppies fat!!! i kind of felt bad for her, she was exhausted and was trying to clean the puppies, give birth to more and feed the others all at the same time! ha, she kept looking at me like she was gonna kill herself:)

The bad news is that one of the puppies ended up dying later that day:( Colby seems to think that I killed it by turning off the heater but whatever.......it was like 107 degrees, and I thought that they were gonna roast to death, but whatever I guess I will take the blame! Then the next day another one was acting really sick and could barely move or latch on to get fed. I tried my best to save her and stayed up and fed her every hour all night and all day. She acted like she was getting stronger but after Sunday dinner we came home and she was stiff as a board in the corner by herself:( I am soooooooo sad, I know it sounds really stupid, but I am so mad at Meatball and the puppies! I think that they knew she was sick and they just wrote her off! The poor little puppy kept trying to get by them and cuddle but they were so mean and would just move! What jerks! What kind of mom does that?! I know I am crazy but what kind of a mom is Meatball?...... at least cuddle her and comfort her so that she doesn't die alone and suffering by herself RIGHT? Meatball is definitely in the DOG HOUSE! Anyways here are the rest of the 5 puppies, they are all getting so big! If you want one let me know. They are awesome, you will love em:)

Kade's 4 months checkup!

My Poor CHUNKY man had to get shots at his 4 month apt on Oct 2nd. I hate taking him to the DR! last time he got his shots he was soooo cranky afterwards for like 2 days. So I was dreading doing it again:( It wasn't that bad this time, he only cried for a sec and he seemed ok the rest of the day. We did get him tylenol earlier this time so that might have helped too:) The Dr was amazed at how big he had gotten, and so am I! Here are Kades Stats!

he is 27 inches long now which puts him in the 97%tile

he weighs 17 1/2lbs- 91%tile

and his little head is only in the 40%tile ha

I swear his head does not seem small for his huge body, but I am his mom and I think that he is perfect:) Kade is such a blessing and I love every second that I get to spend with my chunky monkey!! no matter what my day has held, when I come home to that smiling face he melts my heart every time! I don't know what we did without him:)

THE FAIR

We went up to the fair this weekend, it was pretty fun:) We just walked around and looked at stuff... their are some crazy people at the fair. I am not gonna lie, the only reason I really go is to people watch and stuff my face with fatty food!! And that is pretty much all we did! After Colby got his deep fried SNICKERS bar ( I like to call it a heart attack on a stick). We were both like.... "Well, I am ready to go!" We are pathetic! But it was fun with Kade even though he didn't pay much attention to anything, but what can I expect from a 3 month old:) But we did take his picture as a goat! ha ha... He is just too cute for words!

Brad Paisley and Dierks Bentley

We went to Brad Paisley and Dierks Bentley on Saturday night, we just had grass tickets so we had to go early to get a good spot. they didn't let anyone in until 6:00 but we were there ready to go:) Our line was let in first so we got pretty good seats we were right up against the fence so nobody could stand in front of us and we could lay down and enjoy the show! Kade did really good he fell asleep with the opening singer Jimmy Wayne and pretty much slept through the whole thing. That is until he woke up because he peed through his clothes:) ha ha, he was not happy, then in the middle of changing him it started to rain:( But by the time that all happened Brad Paisley was about 3/4ths done so it wasn't such a big deal! We left and beat the traffic which is always a plus!

Nickelback Concert

For Labor Day we decided to go to Vegas to see Nickelback. They had just barely come to SLC but of course we missed them:( When we found out they were playing in Vegas we decided to take advantage of 2 of Colby's favorite things GAMBLING and CONCERTS! I knew I couldn't leave my baby all weekend so we took him with us!!......Don't worry I wasn't going to take him to the concert! ha ha. My mom and dad were nice enough to come down and watch him for a few hours while we went to the concert:)!! It was so much fun and although some of the other bands were a little to much for me, we had tons of fun and I know that Colby enjoyed it, which makes me happy:)

All in all it was a great trip, the only thing is that we took a cab back to our hotel cause my parents took our car to take Kade. After frantically looking for change for the cab driver in my purse I managed to leave my entire wallet in the CAB!! That's right.....BLOND Amanda lost her wallet in VEGAS in a cab! Of course I didn't notice that it was gone until we were gassing up to leave town either:( I am such a loser!! To make a long story short I had a mad husband, no wallet and no idea what the name of the cab even was to call!! I thought for sure this was a lost cause. But lo and behold Tues morning I was canceling all of my cards and Colby called me and said that someone had actually found it and called him to return it!!! Holy HELL! am I not the luckiest person in the entire world?! Seriously......prayers are answered and there are still honest people in this world, even in VEGAS! Believe it or not. Isn't that amazing?!

Kade's Blessing

We finally blessed Kade on Aug. 23rd! We had the blessing at our house with only our immediate family and it turned out PERFECT!! The food was great and the company and Colby gave Kade the most beautiful blessing:) He did such a good job, I am so proud of him and grateful to have him as my husband to be able to be worthy to give our kids blessings! I was a little nervous because Kade had not been feeling good the day before and that day. He seemed to have some sort of belly ache and just couldn't get comfortable. He scrame all morning while we tried to get the house ready and ourselves ready for the blessing; and continued to cry at the first of his blessing. But as soon as he was blessed with Health he calmed right down and was so good!! I know its cheesy but I am grateful for the comfort of prayer and the power of the priesthood and don't know what I would do without it in my life! We love you Kade and our so glad that you are a part of our family!
