Kade's 4 months checkup!

My Poor CHUNKY man had to get shots at his 4 month apt on Oct 2nd. I hate taking him to the DR! last time he got his shots he was soooo cranky afterwards for like 2 days. So I was dreading doing it again:( It wasn't that bad this time, he only cried for a sec and he seemed ok the rest of the day. We did get him tylenol earlier this time so that might have helped too:) The Dr was amazed at how big he had gotten, and so am I! Here are Kades Stats!

he is 27 inches long now which puts him in the 97%tile

he weighs 17 1/2lbs- 91%tile

and his little head is only in the 40%tile ha

I swear his head does not seem small for his huge body, but I am his mom and I think that he is perfect:) Kade is such a blessing and I love every second that I get to spend with my chunky monkey!! no matter what my day has held, when I come home to that smiling face he melts my heart every time! I don't know what we did without him:)

THE FAIR

We went up to the fair this weekend, it was pretty fun:) We just walked around and looked at stuff... their are some crazy people at the fair. I am not gonna lie, the only reason I really go is to people watch and stuff my face with fatty food!! And that is pretty much all we did! After Colby got his deep fried SNICKERS bar ( I like to call it a heart attack on a stick). We were both like.... "Well, I am ready to go!" We are pathetic! But it was fun with Kade even though he didn't pay much attention to anything, but what can I expect from a 3 month old:) But we did take his picture as a goat! ha ha... He is just too cute for words!

Brad Paisley and Dierks Bentley

We went to Brad Paisley and Dierks Bentley on Saturday night, we just had grass tickets so we had to go early to get a good spot. they didn't let anyone in until 6:00 but we were there ready to go:) Our line was let in first so we got pretty good seats we were right up against the fence so nobody could stand in front of us and we could lay down and enjoy the show! Kade did really good he fell asleep with the opening singer Jimmy Wayne and pretty much slept through the whole thing. That is until he woke up because he peed through his clothes:) ha ha, he was not happy, then in the middle of changing him it started to rain:( But by the time that all happened Brad Paisley was about 3/4ths done so it wasn't such a big deal! We left and beat the traffic which is always a plus!

For Labor Day we decided to go to Vegas to see Nickelback. They had just barely come to SLC but of course we missed them:( When we found out they were playing in Vegas we decided to take advantage of 2 of Colby's favorite things GAMBLING and CONCERTS! I knew I couldn't leave my baby all weekend so we took him with us!!......Don't worry I wasn't going to take him to the concert! ha ha. My mom and dad were nice enough to come down and watch him for a few hours while we went to the concert:)!! It was so much fun and although some of the other bands were a little to much for me, we had tons of fun and I know that Colby enjoyed it, which makes me happy:)

All in all it was a great trip, the only thing is that we took a cab back to our hotel cause my parents took our car to take Kade. After frantically looking for change for the cab driver in my purse I managed to leave my entire wallet in the CAB!! That's right.....BLOND Amanda lost her wallet in VEGAS in a cab! Of course I didn't notice that it was gone until we were gassing up to leave town either:( I am such a loser!! To make a long story short I had a mad husband, no wallet and no idea what the name of the cab even was to call!! I thought for sure this was a lost cause. But lo and behold Tues morning I was canceling all of my cards and Colby called me and said that someone had actually found it and called him to return it!!! Holy HELL! am I not the luckiest person in the entire world?! Seriously......prayers are answered and there are still honest people in this world, even in VEGAS! Believe it or not. Isn't that amazing?!

Kade's Blessing

We finally blessed Kade on Aug. 23rd! We had the blessing at our house with only our immediate family and it turned out PERFECT!! The food was great and the company and Colby gave Kade the most beautiful blessing:) He did such a good job, I am so proud of him and grateful to have him as my husband to be able to be worthy to give our kids blessings! I was a little nervous because Kade had not been feeling good the day before and that day. He seemed to have some sort of belly ache and just couldn't get comfortable. He scrame all morning while we tried to get the house ready and ourselves ready for the blessing; and continued to cry at the first of his blessing. But as soon as he was blessed with Health he calmed right down and was so good!! I know its cheesy but I am grateful for the comfort of prayer and the power of the priesthood and don't know what I would do without it in my life! We love you Kade and our so glad that you are a part of our family!

Houston Here He CoMeS!

Derek AKA Elder Danklef left on his mission to Houston TX on Sept 2nd!! I can't believe that this day came and went:( I am so sad that Derek is gone. I think that I took it a lot harder than I thought that I would. But I am so proud of him for actually wanting to go. Derek has always been a little bit of a mommas boy and we have loved him for it:) But when he first started to talk about going on a mission I will be honest I questioned if he would last! I feel terrible saying that now! Derek has already grown up so much preparing to go that I could hardly recognize him before he left. He was to ready to go and so excited. When he got set apart he bore his testimony and I was blown away! At that moment I knew that Derek was not only going to stick out his mission but he was going to touch so many hearts! The bishop said it best when he said that Derek just has a humble confidence about him that draws people in! I love Derek so much and am so proud of him! He has always been a good kid and always did the right thing. He never got caught up in the High School stuff and it just seemed easy for him to Choose the Right! I really admire Derek for that and I can't wait to hear from him and see him in 2yrs! Love you Derek
