Nickelback Concert
Our Suite at the Venetian!!

Nickelback

Nickelback

For Labor Day we decided to go to Vegas to see Nickelback. They had just barely come to SLC but of course we missed them:( When we found out they were playing in Vegas we decided to take advantage of 2 of Colby's favorite things GAMBLING and CONCERTS! I knew I couldn't leave my baby all weekend so we took him with us!!......Don't worry I wasn't going to take him to the concert! ha ha. My mom and dad were nice enough to come down and watch him for a few hours while we went to the concert:)!! It was so much fun and although some of the other bands were a little to much for me, we had tons of fun and I know that Colby enjoyed it, which makes me happy:)
All in all it was a great trip, the only thing is that we took a cab back to our hotel cause my parents took our car to take Kade. After frantically looking for change for the cab driver in my purse I managed to leave my entire wallet in the CAB!! That's right.....BLOND Amanda lost her wallet in VEGAS in a cab! Of course I didn't notice that it was gone until we were gassing up to leave town either:( I am such a loser!! To make a long story short I had a mad husband, no wallet and no idea what the name of the cab even was to call!! I thought for sure this was a lost cause. But lo and behold Tues morning I was canceling all of my cards and Colby called me and said that someone had actually found it and called him to return it!!! Holy HELL! am I not the luckiest person in the entire world?! Seriously......prayers are answered and there are still honest people in this world, even in VEGAS! Believe it or not. Isn't that amazing?!
Kade's Blessing

We finally blessed Kade on Aug. 23rd! We had the blessing at our house with only our immediate family and it turned out PERFECT!! The food was great and the company and Colby gave Kade the most beautiful blessing:) He did such a good job, I am so proud of him and grateful to have him as my husband to be able to be worthy to give our kids blessings! I was a little nervous because Kade had not been feeling good the day before and that day. He seemed to have some sort of belly ache and just couldn't get comfortable. He scrame all morning while we tried to get the house ready and ourselves ready for the blessing; and continued to cry at the first of his blessing. But as soon as he was blessed with Health he calmed right down and was so good!! I know its cheesy but I am grateful for the comfort of prayer and the power of the priesthood and don't know what I would do without it in my life! We love you Kade and our so glad that you are a part of our family!

Houston Here He CoMeS!

Derek AKA Elder Danklef left on his mission to Houston TX on Sept 2nd!! I can't believe that this day came and went:( I am so sad that Derek is gone. I think that I took it a lot harder than I thought that I would. But I am so proud of him for actually wanting to go. Derek has always been a little bit of a mommas boy and we have loved him for it:) But when he first started to talk about going on a mission I will be honest I questioned if he would last! I feel terrible saying that now! Derek has already grown up so much preparing to go that I could hardly recognize him before he left. He was to ready to go and so excited. When he got set apart he bore his testimony and I was blown away! At that moment I knew that Derek was not only going to stick out his mission but he was going to touch so many hearts! The bishop said it best when he said that Derek just has a humble confidence about him that draws people in! I love Derek so much and am so proud of him! He has always been a good kid and always did the right thing. He never got caught up in the High School stuff and it just seemed easy for him to Choose the Right! I really admire Derek for that and I can't wait to hear from him and see him in 2yrs! Love you Derek

Hating Work:(
I am going on my third day back at work!!!... I know it is the worst/hardest thing that I have ever had to do! I always knew that when I had my baby that I was going to love him more than anything, but you can't imagine it until it actually comes! From the moment that I held by little boy I dreaded the day that I would have to leave him to come back to work. I really wish that I
could be home having Tummy Time!!

My Friend Jossie!

My friend Joslyn came into town from Cali. I can't believe that it has been over 2 yrs since I have seen her!! Time has flown by and my life has changed so much in those 2 years. I am married with a baby?!! What?! it was kind of weird for her to see I am sure. When I lived in Cali I had convinced my self that all men were pretty much evil and that I never really thought I would get married or cared to. But only a short while after moving home I met Colby and boy did that change! I love him and love our little boy more than anything:)
Although my life is much different now, I am glad that I have still kept contact with Joslyn and was so glad that she finally got to come out and meet my hubby and baby! After I picked her up at the airport we went to lunch at Zuppas, ran some errands and then we home and watched a movie and relaxed that night. The next day we went to see 'The Time Travlers Wife' But stupid Thanksgiving Point had the wrong time on the internet so we ended up missing it:( I am so mad and I have still not seen it. But that night my mother in-law watched Kade and we went to Wendover and taught Joslyn how to gamble, she was a little hesitant at first but by the end she was loviong it and was doing pretty good playing roulet!
The last day before she left we took her up to Park City to ride the Alpine Slide and eat dinner! We met my sister up there with her boys. It was so fun but so so cold for some reason I couldn't believe it. It really felt cold enough to snow in Aug! ha ha
Anyways I am waiting to get some pics e-mailed from Josyln, but for now here are some from the Alpine Slide. I hope she had fun and I can't wait to visit her in Cali soon.

Lagoon!

We went to Lagoon on Saturday, my dad had his work party there and the whole family decided to take advantage. It was so fun, I was a little worried about going on a Saturday because I thought the lines were going to be so long and all we would do was roast waiting to ride the rides. But suprisingly it was not really bad at all. We were able to get right on some rides and we had help from my family so they were able to watch Kade while we rode some rides. It worked out good, I have to say that I love the 'Wicked' I haven't been to Lagoon since like 9th grade so I had never been on it! It was so scary but my favorite. Kade was such a good baby, he was so good even though he was sweating half to death:( Poor guy, we kept getting wet napkins and putting them on his head. He was in heaven! But I still felt bad for him so we went to the gift shop and bought him a little monkey fan to try to keep him cool! Everyone was laughing at me, even strangers but I don't care, I just love him so much:)
Colby got to play some of the games at Lagoon too and he won a bunch of prizes! The picture is just some of them he had a bunch more back at the car! He is so funny! Such a kid at heart.. I swear he the games were his favorite part of Lagoon! I got to hand it to him though, he was amazing at the fast pitch! Such a stud!!!
