Kuddos to Moms

I have been blessed with the best Mother in the world, well most of the time:) My mom has been through alot raising us kids and has always found a way to make it through all of the crap and find a way to love us. Sometimes I don't know how she did... I give her credit for loving me through my ugly gangly annoying stage when I was in Jr High and for loving my sister through her coke bottle glasses! ha ha!!! No, but seriously we always knew no matter what that mom would have our backs and love us and that we could come to her for anything! Now that I am soon to be a mom I appreciate her so much more, I realize all the sacrafices that I know she had to make just to bring me into this world! Man mothers are amazing! That is all I have to say! thanks mom for being so good to all us kids even when we don't deserve it :)

Also Happy Mothers Day to my mother in law, I love her so much and I am so glad that I get along with her and love her as much as I do! I have been very lucky to marry into the family that I did, and I am grateful For Evelyn for raising the man that I love! she did a good job :) I have a lot to live up to between these 2 ladies... and I hope that I can be as good as mom as they are!

BabY ShoWeR

My mom, sisters and my good friend Ashlee Palmer threw me a great baby shower at my moms house on Saturday! Everything turned out great and came together as it always does. My mom had just got back from NYC and at like 2am that morning and managed to clean her house and make cupcakes and put everything together for the shower.... not that she didn't have help though. My sister helped out a lot with the food and Ashlee made these really cute cinnamon rolls for everyone to take home that said, "thanks for celebrating Amanda's bun in the oven!" it was so nice of them to go to so much work for me and I had a great time and got spoiled to death! It was so fun to go home and let Colby see all the stuff. He was so cute about it and wanted to look at every single thing and play with it! It is so fun to see him get excited about our baby boy and I know that he is gonna be a great dad! Now I just want the little nugget here already, I am dying to see him :) My mom took a lot of pics (after all she is the paparazzifor our family)! so I will have to put some of them up soon!

Thanks to everyone that came to the shower to support us and spoil us rotten! We really do appreciate all our friends and family... We are so lucky! Love you all:)

My LOVers B-DaY

So Colby turned 26 on May 7th!! He never likes to make a big deal out of things like Birthdays and never even mentions that he has a Birthday coming up... I don't think any of his friends even know when his Birthday is... He is such a weirdo! But I did remember and tried to make it a special Birthday WEEK for him. We got to go to lunch and then went shopping for clothes and actually found some (which is a shocker) cause he is so picky:) Then we went to dinner at Brick oven! After we came home we just relaxed and I made a carrot cake and sang Happy B-day solo!! ha ha it was not pretty :)
Although Colby doesn't like to make a fuss over Birthdays I was determined to change this and make him love Birthdays... It was funny cause anything he would ask to do I would say, " You decide its your Birthday week." He would look at me like I was crazy, but now he is the one using it to get what he wants, but he has even pushed it to his Birthday MONTH!! ha h, I think I created a monster:)
Anyway... Happy Birthday MONTH Colby Evan Christensen! I love you so much and am so grateful that you came into my life and chose me to be your wife! I look forward to all of the Birthdays that we get to celebrate together :) I hope you had a special day! LOve you more than life itself :) and more and more everyday!

Derek's an Elder

My little brother got ordained an Elder! I can't believe that Derek is putting in his papers. I never thought that this day would come, but I am so proud of him for being such a good kid and being not only worthy to go but actually wanting to go. I am gonna freak out when he actually gets his call! Derek we love you and are so Proud of you! I can't beleive that you are old enough to go on a mission!

Jazz Game

Colby has been dying to go to a Jazz game so instead of just talking about it we finally broke down and bought some tickets to Saturdays game. We were really looking forward to going and were excited when they won Thursdays game. But not only did the Jazz suck it up on Saturdays game (they couldn't even get within 20 points the whole last half) But Colby got sick this weekend and still insisted on going. It turned out to be pretty fun we had Jonny and his wife Lindsay come with us but I wish that Colby wouldn't have been sick and the Jazz would have won or at least played better :(

HOpPy EasTeR !

This Easter was really relaxed... We did color Easter eggs... I made Colby do it, and he was a good sport about it :) Even though it was kind of lame.. I felt like I had to do something to make it feel like a holiday! I got Colby 'YES MAN' the Jim Carey movie. It is pretty funny if you haven't seen it you should go get it. Colby go us tickets to see George Straight, Brad Paisley and some other concerts.. it was a package deal, so we are excited to go to those this summer (if summer ever comes). And although we didn't do Easter baskets for each other that doesn't mean that we missed out on the Easter candy :) I love Easter but most of all I love the Easter candy... Who can resist the Reese's eggs or the Cadbury mini eggs in the purple bag?! NOT me!! They are amazing, but why is it that every year they sell out and you can't find them? I went to Target like the day before Easter and it was a mad house... people were going crazy in the Easter isles it was like as bad as Christmas! I hope that in between gorging ourselves on Easter candy we remembered The real reason that we celebrate Easter! Oh how Thankful I am for the atonement! Seriously I would be a huge mess without the gospel!

Getting Closer...

So first of all, I finally got the results back from my cyst and I am completely fine... WAHOOO!! the Dr came in and said,"Would you like the good news or... the good news?" I was so excited but he scared me half to death. Usually when the Dr starts something off with, "Would you like the good news" it is followed by something not so good. So I guess my cyst is fine to just sit there for a while. and I will just keep watching it.
We also went to our last 4 week apt last Friday, which now means we start to go every 2 weeks.... that means that I am close to seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. Don't get me wrong, I love having this little guy kicking away inside me. But I am so sick of being prego. I can't sleep and the Braxton Hicks contractions are kicking my trash! Sometimes I swear I am really going into labor! haha. But our little baby boy is now being compared to 4 oranges (in weight) and he is just gonna get bigger and bigger until he comes... so unfortunately so am I!

on the plus side, I also actually accomplished something that I set out to do this week. I painted the baby dresser :) and I finally feel like the room is somewhat coming together. Colby did a great job painting it a few weeks back. I came home and it was all done. He put big thick brown stripes on the wall which I completely love! He is the best! Getting the room ready and buying little outfits just makes us want him here! We can't wait to see what he looks like! I hope he has Colby's blue eyes, and hair line!! ha ha (no offense dad)!
